16th Hole

The Tee Shot

Dont be fooled by the stroke index as in the middle of the summer this does not play like a stroke index 18 hole should. There is out of bounds running all the way down the left of the hole, with will catch any hooked shot from the right hander. Although only a small club is used this hole is often affected by the wind so control over the shot is essential. There is no trouble to the right of the hole, but there are two bunkers which make the hole harder than the stroke index suggests. There is a bunker at the front and another one at the back of the green. In the summer when the green is hard it can be very tricky to hold the green, therefore this back bunker seriously comes into play. The front bunker does not allow a shot to be rolled onto the green, un less you aim for the side of the green. There is also a ditch at the back of the rear bunker, which is also very much in play. A high floated shot is definately required on this hole.

The Green

This is another green that seems to sit in a bowl, with most putts breaking into the middle of the green. There can be some tough putts on this green depending on the position of the flag. If you can hit the green and two putt for par you will be happy to move on to the par 5 17th, a birdie here is a bonus.
