You step onto the 6th tee and once again have your eyes set on a birdie. The tee shot is once again not to difficult, with the green once again driveable. In the middle of the summer for the big hitters a 3 wood is sometimes your best choice of club off the tee due to there being more trouble long than short. There are trees which run all the way down both sides of the hole. Even if you end up in the trees, you will normally have a second shot to the green, unless you have been very unlucky and are directly behind a tree. On the left of the hole from the top of the hill down to the green there is also a hedge. This hedge is in play for the hook off the tee, although there is more room on the left than it appears before you reach this hedge. Anywhere straight down the middle is perfect. It is roughly 170 yards to the top of the hill which leaves about 130 yards in.
The Approach
The second shot can sometimes be hard to judge distance due to the downhill approach. Your best option here is to try and pitch the ball short and run it on to the green, especially if the flag is positioned at the front of the green. There are two bunkers which you need to make sure you avoid, one is short right and the other is short left. There are also a number of trees on the right and left, but they are a significant distance away from the green that they do not really come into play. There is plenty of space to miss the green on the right and left, but if you are long you might end up in the hedge that sits over the back of the green.
The Green
The green slopes from the front and the back into the middle, so once again there is a semi bowl in the middle of the green. This can also be a tricky green to read, with a number of putts that go the opposite way to what they appeared they should. This green can also get quite quick, but not as bad as the 5th. Anything worse than par here in the summer is disapointing for the lower handicapper.
