Coming Up In This Month
Mens Winter League
The group stages of the winter league will start to come to a finish towards the end of the month, with a few final matches to be played in early February. With two teams to go through from each group, it is going to be a very tight and close finish to both of these groups, with a number of teams in each league still in with a chance of qualifiying for the semi-finals.
General
The Captains drive In was due to take place this month but this has now been pushed back a month, It will now take place on Sunday 8th February.
Mixed
There is a mixed friendly toward the end of the month which is to be played by Oadby members only. It is simply a friendly match within the club.
Ladies
For the ladies there are a number of ladies competitions which are starting this month.

Mens Winter League
As the group stage of the winter league starts to draw to a close the battle for the remaining group spot in the Saturday group remains very close. With Andy Wells and Mohammed Asra already through to the semi-finals, it is left to the pairs of the Mark Allen & Daz Read, Andy Vale & Kev Wood and defending champions Tidge Gharial and Rich Bonser. Gharial & Bonser play Vale & Wood in their last group match, with victory for Vale & Wood securing passage through to the semi-finals. A half for Vale & Wood will be good enough if Allen & Read fail to win. A win for Vale & Wood could see them in a playoff for the group winners spot, if Wells and Asra fail to beat the solid pair of Vice-President Dave Lett & Dave Forrester. The Sunday group already has its two semi-finalists with a game to go. Jan Reading & Adam Jacques and Ed Eley & Ben Hall are both already through, with those teams playing each other in their final matches of that group. Eley & Hall need to win if they are to go through as group winners, while Reading & Jacques will take that title with only a half.
