Latest News From Month

Captains Drive-In

The Captains Drive-In went ahead on Sunday 10th January despite awful conditions. The 9 hole competition was cancelled due to the amount of snow on the course but thanks to some shovelling from Jim Sawbridge and Gary Smith the 1st tee was cleared to allow the Captains to Drive off. The Captains who drove off were the Club Captain John Goodman, Lady Captain Shirley Hardy, 2nd Team Captain Brian Fletcher-Warrington, Seniors Captain Dennis Clark and Junior Captain Andrew Keogh. All of the Captains hit very good respectable drives down the middle of the fairway and there was a decent turnout from the members who came down to support the Captains despite the conditions. A big thank you goes out to everyone who helped to organise the events. There were also representatives from the two Charites for this year and those two Charities are Wishes 4 Kids and Parkinson's. The club will be doing all they can to raise a large amount of money for the chosen Charities this year. A big thank you must also go to Jane Sawbridge who arranged a quiz for the members to keep them busy during the morning. The quiz was arranged because the golf was cancelled and I am sure everyone will agree it was a fantastic quiz.
