The competition was played off the yellow tees and Brian has now been cut to 21 in winning the £27 voucher for first place. Brian won the competition on count-back, beating Oadby legend Martyn Morton who won a £17 voucher but is still off 12. Richard Holt was third with 39 points to win a £10 voucher and get cut to 17, while Prakhash Magdani also finished on 39 points to get cut to 17. Tim Bingham finished on 38 points while Stuart Monksfield and Steve Ablett both ended up with 37 points.
Mens Scratch Team
The Scratch Team dropped points at home for the first time this season on Thursday 8th July when they lost 6 - 2 at home to Ullesthorpe. It was not a great performance from the team although Ullesthorpe do have a strong side and they turned up with a fantastic attitude and a very good team spirit, so full credit goes out to Ullesthorpe. Dave Goodman and Ed Eley were the only victors for Oadby, and a full match report can be found in the Teams-Scratch Team-Match Reports 2-10 page, but you must be a logged in member of the website to view this page. Membership of the website is only available to members of the golf club.
Bambrick Trophy
The Bambrick Trophy was played over the weekend of Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July and on a weekend where scoring was very good, Darren Pededn proved to be slightly better than the rest of the field, shooting a very good 43 points to win the trophy on count-back. It was a very solid round from Darren which didn't included many dropped shots, and it is a round which has seen him cut down to 7.9, with a playing handicap of 8. Darren's 42 points equated to a Gross 74. Well done Daz, keep up the good scoring! Barry Lovell was the man just edged out by Darren after his 43 points was just not quite good enough on the back 9 local rules. Barry still picks up a voucher for £36 and also gets cut down to 26. Ben Hall continued his recent good form to finish 3rd on 42 points, a round which included a back 9 of 32 Gross. Ben picks up a voucher for £21 and also goes to the top of the Order of Merit. Steve Ablett was 4th on 41 points which sees him cut down to 12, whil Raj Pattini and Joe Larkey were 5th and 6th respectively on 40 points, with Joe getting himself cut down to 20.
Mixed John Des Roches Trophy
The John De Roche trophy was played on Sunday 4th July and it was Gary and Cathy Smith who won the mixed gold letter with a score of Nett 68. John Giles and Shirley Hardy were second with a Nett 70 with Shirley Bright & Jan Reading, Ed Eley & Briony Allen, and Ben Hall & Margaret Palmer all on Nett 71.

Mens Scratch Team
The Scratch team took on Beedles Lake at home on Thursday 22nd July and the team were extremely keen to pick up a win after the disapointing previous result against Ullesthorpe. Another home loss would have put the team in a difficult position with a few games to go, but the team came through to record a 5 - 3 victory against a good Beedles Lake side. Ben Hall, Lee Tebbutt, Adam Jacques, Jan Reading and Dave Sewart were the victors, with Ed Eley, Geoff Ferrar and James Whitehead losing. a full match report can be found in the Teams-Scratch Team-Match Reports 2-10 page, but you must be a logged in member of the website to view this page. Membership of the website is only available to members of the golf club.
Ladies Municipal Cup
The ladies Municipal Cup was played on Sunday 25th July and Oadby ladies did the club proud by bringing the trophy home. All the ladies played very solid golf, with all the ladies returning scores of between 33 and 35 points to give the team a total of 204 points. Humberstone Heights were second with 195 points while Western Park were third on 178 points. It was a fantastic result for the team after the disapointment of the men failing to win the trophy. The mixed was cancelled but it is due to be played in October.
Rob Williams Memorial Trophy
The Mens Rob Williams Memorial Trophy was played over the weekend of Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July in memory of the fantastic Rob Williams who passed away last year. It was brilliant to see so many entries and good scores over the weekend and in the end count-back was required to determine a winner. Mick Tebbutt and Chris Smith both shot 42 points and it was Mick who just edged Chris out on count-back, with 22 points to 21. As a result of this Mick becomes the first winner of the trophy and also picks up a voucher for a very impressive £85, getting himself cut down to 17 in the process. It is great to see Chris returning to form over the last few weeks, and this 42 points equated to a 2 over par 74, not a bad score considering a triple bogey 7 down the 12th was on the card. As a result of Chris's solid knock he has been cut back down to 7, and also picked up a £55 voucher. Tim Rushin picked up a £32 for finishing third after his 40 points saw him get cut back down to 14. Tim beat Sam Buckley into the third spot after Sam also got 40 points in his first mens competition. A cracking score by young Sam which will no doubt give him more motivation to get that handicap down and try and get lower than his Dad. Steve Ablett has regained his solid form over the last few weeks and he finished 5th with 39 points, while Stuart Monksfiled, Barry Swift, Geoff Ferrer, Darren Peden and Roger Loach all finished with 38 points. Richard Bonser, Richard Primrose, Adam Jacques and Malcolm Pratt were the other players to play under their handicaps after all shooting 37 points.
Mens Pairs Competition
A Pairs competition was run on Saturday 31st July with the format a 4BBB Medal. There were some good scores on the day but none as good as a Nett 62 from Andy Vale and Brian Stevenson. It was a fantastic score from the pair and it has seen them pick up a £20 voucher each. They won the competition by 1 shot, beating Ben Hall & Oliver Fletcher-Warrington (Nett 63.) Hall & Fletcher-Warrington each pick up a £10 voucher for finishing second. Ed Eley & Adam Fletcher-Warrington were 3rd with a Nett 64.
