Before you tee off please check the notice board opposite the clubhouse for any local rules that change on a regular basis. Anything relating to GUR or other local rules will be posted on this board. It is very important you check this board before teeing off. It could stop you getting disqualified but likewise it could also help you if you dont know you get a free drop from a certain position. Please also check the scorecard for local rules.
OUT OF BOUNDS
a) All boundary fences and hedges at holes 1 to 7, plus 10, 17 and 18
b) Holes 8 to 16, a ball is out of bounds when over the perimeter road, except hole 9 where, when past the coloured post and creosite line the ball is in play
c) When the ball is hit onto the practice ground running parallel to the 4th hole. Also when in the hedge or the ditch short at the bottom of the practice ground.
WATER HAZARDS
a) Including hedges/ditches at the rear of each green or across the course
b) The brooks at the 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 12th, 13th, 15th and 17th where marked
LATERAL WATER HAZADS/PARALLEL HEDGES/DITCHES
All ditches where marked with a red stake and brook at 3rd
RELIEF MUST BE TAKEN
a) Ball on putting green of hole not being played, drop without penalty at nearest point of relief not nearer the hole being played
b) All young planted trees or staked or with white band, shrubs and hedges near the first tee, and the practice green. If such a tree interfers with the player's stance or the area of his intended swing the ball must be lifted without penalty and dropped in accordance with the procedure described in Rule 24-2b(i). The may may be cleaned when so lifted
RELIEF MAY BE TAKEN
a) All pop-up sprinkler heads, drain manhole covers when within 2 club lengths (Rule 24/2)
b) All gravel paths, bridges and roads on the course
c) Stones in bunkers may be lifted (Rule 24/1)
d) A plugged ball in the rough, when winter rules apply, may be dropped without penalty no nearer the hole. Ball must not be cleaned
e) Hoof marks as per Rule 25/1b
f) On the 8th hole, the brick building and surrounding railings are part of the water hazard, Relief under penalty - Rule 26/1
G.U.R
a) Holes 9 & 15 are subject to temporary local ruling during period 1st October to 31st March. See notice boards for full ruling
